Job Description

The Field Service Technician will utilize knowledge of computer equipment, networks and computer software capabilities to  install, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on all client IT systems and equipment; providing on-site end-user training on their operation, maintenance and limited troubleshooting.

Responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs as well as adequate training of the end-users to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in superior customer satisfaction.

Demonstrate safe/responsible work habits to avoid injuries, damage to property, and to ensure maximum system up time and functionality.

Maintains inventory control of IT equipment and systems at all assigned facilities.

Exhibits professional appearance and conduct in accordance with Company standards while working with end-users and the general public.

Employee will be on a 90 day probationary period and be required to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot, support and maintain IT systems and applications at all assigned locations. This includes but is not limited to PC hardware, laptops, wall mounted touch screen kiosks, VPN and ISP WAN devices, switches, Ethernet cabling, wireless systems, printers/copiers, Microsoft Office suite, , MS Office 365, virus protection, RDP terminal services, MS Outlook, MS Hyper Visor, etc.

Must be able to interface with end-users, other service technicians, technical support personnel, and have the communication skills to convey the situation in a tactful, professional, diplomatic and logical manner.

Utilize various test programs and equipment to analyze system problems.

Must have ability to communicate effectively with adverse, difficult and potentially discouraged end-users and to read, speak and write English fluently.

Required Skills:

2-6 years computer and network helpdesk support. Expert in Networking and computer   troubleshooting.  Both online and in person. This includes both physical and virtual machines.

Reliable, state registered, state inspected and properly insured transportation is a necessity.

Must have a clean criminal background.

Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Other Industry certifications such as CWSP, Cisco, MCSE, etc. are highly desirable.

 Education

Associates degree in Telecommunications or Computer related field or equivalent work experience.

 General Requirements

Candidate must be a confident, energetic, resourceful professional that is a self-starter with excellent communication skills and have the ability to operate remotely from the main office with minimum supervision.

Candidate must demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations, managing personal time and company resources

Must be able to interface with end-users, other service technicians, technical support personnel, and other technical professionals and have the communication skills to convey the situation in a tactful, professional, diplomatic and logical manner.

Ability to work from home office or from office at a assigned location

Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday but employee must be willing to be called out at any time for major system outages when they occur.

Strong analytical ability required to effectively communicate with all levels of end-users and management and the ability to demonstrated effective verbal, written and listening skills and professional telephone skills and manners.

Strong knowledge of the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of computer, network and wireless systems.

Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

Able to endure long periods of standing, bending, stooping and crawling and be flexible enough to safely maneuver through shallow attics and crawl spaces to trace and sometimes run network/computer cables.

Ability and basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools.
